Our Unique Path: The Foundational Practices of the Diamond Approach


In this live webcast for Diamond Approach students on our foundational practices, we will explore their place, purpose, in our continuing unfoldment and renew our personal relationship to these modalities — clearing up misunderstandings, inner obstacles, and difficulties. With this increased understanding, we will be able to skillfully deepen the way we incorporate them, supporting and enhancing our Inner Journey and its expression in our lives.

In this four-session course, you can expect to learn:

Week 1 Meditation

  • Step-by-step guided meditation practice
  • Inquiry into your relationship with meditation

  • Continuing practices to do between course segments
Week 2 Sensing, Looking & Listening (SLL)
  • The fundamentals of sensing, looking and listening
  • How this practice can change your daily life
  • Guided sensing practice
  • Inquiry into our relationship to this practice
  • The relationship between SSL and Life Practice
  • Continuing practices to do between course segments
Week 3 Inquiry
  • Inquiry – the central practice of the Diamond Approach
  • The three centers – what each contributes
  • How inquiry develops over time
  • How to inquire alone, with others, through writing
  • Opportunity to inquire
  • Continuing practices to do between course segments
Week 4 The Whole is Greater Than the Parts – Three as One
  • The place each practice contributes
  • The relationship of the practices to each other
  • Inquiry into the place each has in your life and what is weak
  • Renewing dedication to each, and ways to support your weakest link(s)
  • Written materials to continually support your practices

Sandra Maitri has been a Diamond Approach teacher for 27 years. She leads groups in the San Francisco Bay Area and in the United Kingdom, and has a private practice in Marin County, California. In the early seventies, she was a student of Claudio Naranjo, MD, in his original SAT group along with Hameed and Marie Ali. She has also studied with various Eastern and Western spiritual and psychological teachers, focusing especially on Insight and Tibetan Buddhist meditation.  She is the author of The Spiritual Dimension of the Enneagram: Nine Faces of the Soul, and The Enneagram of Passions and Virtues: Finding the Way Home. In her spare time, she paints and writes.

Times: 9am-12pm PDT (12pm-3pm EDT, 5-8pm UK, 6-9pm EU)

The recordings of each segment will be available to participants for the duration of the course and for at least 6 months after the course is finished. If you missed a segment we will have the recording uploaded within 3 days of the live segment.
